(Opening shot: fade in to an establishing shot of Pangabula Island on the ocean; zoom in slowly on it.)
Jay Jay: (voiceover) Pangabula Island? Well, it's the most incredible island in the whole world.
(On the end of this, dissolve to Pangabula's gorgeous jungle panorama: a waterfall, palm trees, and a river. Seagulls fly over.)
Jay Jay: It has pretty palm trees and a big blue river. But the best thing it has is—
(Dissolve to the Sparkleberry tree resting on the seashore as its sparkleberries shine.)
Jay Jay: —the Sparkleberry Tree— (Close-up of its sparkleberries.) —with berries that sparkle all the time.
(Dissolve to the airport, seen at ground level from the runway looking at the kids' hangar, firehouse and water tower. Jay Jay and Tuffy taxi across the runway, the camera turning slowly to follow them until they're out of sight.)
Tuffy: Pangabula Island sounds t-t-t-tow-rrific. I mean terrific, Jay Jay.
Jay Jay: Oh, it is, Tuffy. It's the most amazing place ever!
Narrator: Jay Jay made it sound terrific, but it was a very long ways away. How would Tuffy get there?
(Cut to outside Old Oscar's barn, the jet plane and tow truck gather up outside it; Tracy and Snuffy have joined.)
Jay Jay: And I'm really excited about going there again!
Tracy: Jay Jay, Big Jake's waiting, so we have to get moving. Are you ready to take off?
Jay Jay: Ready!
Snuffy: Have a nice trip!
Tracy: Thanks, Snuffy! Bye, you two! (She zooms down the runway.)
Jay Jay: Bye, Tuffy! Bye, Snuffy! (He follows.)
Snuffy: Bye! Well, there they go. Boy, are they gonna have a good time.
Tuffy: Snuffy, have you ever been to Pangabula Island?
Snuffy: I sure have.
Tuffy: Is it as great as they say it is?
Snuffy: Tuffy, it's even better.
Tuffy: Oh, shucks. I'd give anything to go there.
Snuffy: Then why don't you?
Tuffy: Well, for one thing, I don't know the way.
Snuffy: No problem. I can show you.
Tuffy: You can?
Snuffy: Sure, just follow me.
Spoken/shouted lyrics are in all caps
(Iris in to a head-on view of Tuffy, she drives down a forest road.)
Tuffy: With a good friend in the sky
(Snuffy joins her.)
Snuffy: And another on the ground
Tuffy, Snuffy: Imagine all the great adventures
To be found
All around
(Snuffy barrel rolls.)
Snuffy: I'm gonna glide on happy wings
Tuffy: I'm gonna wide on wonder wheels
Tuffy, Snuffy: When you're travelin' with a friend
That's how it feels
We're gonna get there when we get there
And have a great time when we do
But half the fun of
Getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
Let's forget about the shortcuts
That cut travel time in two
'Cause half the fun of
Getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
Snuffy: From here to there
Tuffy: From here to there
Snuffy: There's much to see
Tuffy: There's much to see
Snuffy: And in between
Tuffy: And in between
Snuffy: There's you and me
Tuffy: THERE'S YOU AND ME
(Iris in to a map showing Tuffy and Snuffy traveling from Tarrytown Airport to Sandy Landing.)
Tuffy, Snuffy: We're gonna get there when we get there
And have a great time when we do
(Iris in to a head-on view of Tuffy; she drives down Sandy Landing, Snuffy flying from above.)
Tuffy, Snuffy: But half the fun of getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
Yeah, half the fun of getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
(Snuffy chuckles.)
Tuffy: VWOOM VWOOM VWOOM [Snuffy: Yeah.]
Song ends
Snuffy: How's it goin' down there, Tuffy?
Tuffy: T-t-t-t-tow-rrific, Snuffy!
(Wipe to the Sandy Landing dockside; Snuffy flies over, and Tuffy taxis down the dock and stops.)
Tuffy: Hey, wait! Waaaait!
Snuffy: Huh?
Tuffy: I can't fly over the ocean. I'm a tow truck, 'member?
Snuffy: Oh, my. Oh, that's right. (He turns around.)
(Dissolve to the Sandy Landing dockside; Snuffy meets up with Tuffy.)
Snuffy: Ohh. I'm sorry, Tuffy. I completely forgot that you couldn't fly.
Tuffy: Is there another way to get to Pangabula Island that doesn't have anything to do with flying over the water?
Snuffy: Uh...oh no! No! Now that I think about it, there's a whole lot of water between Tarrytown and Pangabula.
Tuffy: Ooh, trucks, how am I going to get there? There's got to be a way!
(We hear the sound of a loud siren, Tuffy gasps.)
Tuffy: Hey, look! It's my cousin!
(Revvin' Evan comes into view; he taxis down the dock and stops before the duo.)
Evan: (singing) I'm revvin', I'm Evan
I'm revvin', Revvin' Evan
(Cut to an overshot of Tuffy/Snuffy/Evan.)
Evan: Hi, Snuffy. Hi, Tuffy. What are you two up to?
Tuffy: Cousin Evan. Snuffy was going to take me to Pangabula Island, but now we're stuck here because there's no way for me to fly over the ocean.
Evan: Oh, that's a problem, all right.
Tuffy: I've always dreamed of wanting to go to Pangabula Island, but now it looks like I'm going to have to give up.
Evan: Ah, hey, little cousin. You should never give up on a dream. Bible says having hope helps us to find God's way.
Tuffy: What does that mean?
Evan: It means there's usually some way to get something done if you try hard enough.
(Overshot of the Sandy Landing dockside on the end of this; Snuffy stands on the dock, front wheel holding the end of a cable. Tuffy hovers slightly into view, attached to a large, cylindrical balloon; the other end of the cable dangles from her towline.)
Tuffy: Whoa...whoa! Try to hold me straight, Snuffy!
Snuffy: I'm trying. Are you sure this is gonna work?
Tuffy: Of course it is. This is the same hot air balloon that Cousin Evan used for flying. If it can't get me to Pangabula Island, nothing can. Okay now, get ready to let me go. One, two...two, let go.
(Back to Snuffy; he lets go of Tuffy's hook.)
Snuffy: Hang on, Tuffy. (Overhead shot; his propeller spins.) I'm on my way up there!
(Cut to an overview of the ocean; Tuffy slowly rises upward past the screen, chuckling.)
Tuffy: Hey, look! I'm flying! I'm flying! Wheeeeeeeeee!!! (Cut to a head-on view of her.) Pangabula Island, here I come! T-t-t-t-t-t-tow-rrific! (Snuffy flies into view from the right.) Hi there, Snuffy, how am I doing?
Snuffy: Uh, great, great, but there's one little problem.
Tuffy: What?
Snuffy: You're going the wrong way!
(He flies past the screen; cut to a rear angle as he flies toward Tuffy, wobbling in place.)
Narrator: Yes, it was true. The strong winds over the ocean were carrying Tuffy in the wrong direction. (Head-on view of Snuffy following Tuffy on the end of this.)
Tuffy: Snuffy, how do I steer this thing?
Snuffy: Oh, I don't know. I just remembered that Revvin' Evan had the same problem. But now what are we going to do?!
Tuffy: Whatever we do, we-we can't panic! We have to stay callllllm!!! (She swoops o.s., screaming.)
Snuffy: Hang on. I'm right behind you.
(He backs up out of frame; cut to a long shot as the skywriter finally meets up with the out of control tow truck.)
Snuffy: Are you okay?
Tuffy: S-so far.
Snuffy: Maybe we'd better quit and go home.
Tuffy: We can't give up, 'member? Where there's a will, there's a way.
Snuffy: But-but how can we steer you all the way to Pangabula Island?
Tuffy: Hey, I have an idea. We over the water, right?
Snuffy: Uh-huh.
Tuffy: And what else do you find in the water?
Snuffy: Uh, fish?
Tuffy: No! I mean on top of the water!
Snuffy: Uh, a boat!
Tuffy: Yes! And I have a towline!
Snuffy: Ohh, right! A boat could use your towline to tow you to Pangabula Island!
Tuffy: Right, now please find me a boat and...help meeeeeeeeee!
(She whooshes uncontrollably out of frame; rear angle as Snuffy watches Tuffy floating out of sight.)
Snuffy: Hang on! I'll be right back!
(He turns around; dissolve back to the Sandy Landing dockside. The skywriter works his way toward it.)
Narrator: So Snuffy raced back to the docks of Tarrytown.
(Snuffy taxis down the dock and stops before Captain Wentworth; she waves. A man loads crates next to her; he is Mr. Crabby, Wentworth's first mate. Snuffy starts speaking, but his speech is muted under the following.)
Narrator: And he found just the right boat to help with Tuffy's new plan. It belonged to friends Captain Wentworth and Mr. Crabby— (Wentworth and Mr. Crabby start to board the cargo ship.) —who, after Snuffy explained Tuffy's dilemma— (Snuffy exits; iris in to the cargo ship traveling across the ocean.) —were happy to follow him back— (Tuffy floats erratically into view.) —to see how God could use them to help Tuffy.
Wentworth: Hello, Tuffy! Snuffy says you need a tow.
Tuffy: If you can, please, Captain Wentworth!
Wentworth: Of course! Get ready. Mr. Crabby?
Mr. Crabby: Yes, Captain Wentworth?
Wentworth: Prepare to hook Tuffy's line.
Mr. Crabby: Prepare to hook Tuffy's line. (chuckles) Tuffy's line.
Wentworth: And look sharp, sir. Look sharp.
Mr. Crabby: Look sharp. Look sharp. Aye, aye, captain. (laughs)
Wentworth: Okay, Tuffy, lower your line.
Narrator: So Tuffy lowered her line. (Back to Wentworth and Mr. Crabby.)
Mr. Crabby: (chuckling) It's— it's— hold this.
Narrator: And before you could say "anchors aweigh"...
Mr. Crabby: Ho-huh-ho!
Narrator: Tuffy was actually on her way to Pangabula.
Tuffy: Yippee! Whoo-whoo!
Narrator: But just when things were really going well, Captain Wentworth's boat was suddenly surrounded by thick, heavy fog.
Wentworth: Very interesting.
Mr. Crabby: What do you see, captain?
Wentworth: Absolutely nothing. We're stuck in fog, Mr. Crabby. Stop the ship. (An alarm blares.)
Mr. Crabby: Whoa-ho. Stop the ship!?! Stop— whoa-ho!
(Cut to Snuffy in flight, barely visible through the fog.)
Snuffy: This is terrible. We'll never get to the island in this fog.
Tuffy: N-n-n-n-never say never, Snuffy. Watch this. Captain Wentworth?
Wentworth: Yes?
Tuffy: I'm going to let out more of my tow line. Then I'll rise up above this fog and tell you which way to go.
Wentworth: Splendid idea!
Tuffy: Get ready!
Wentworth: Ready, Tuffy!
Tuffy: There! Ooh, I see something. It's a beautiful, big island.
Snuffy: It must be Pangabula Island. Oh, I wish I could fly as high as you are right now.
Tuffy: That's okay. Now I can tell you all how to get there. Okay, captain, turn to the right.
Wentworth: Mr. Crabby?
Mr. Crabby: Yes, Captain Wentworth?
Wentworth: Hard to starboard.
Mr. Crabby: Hard to starboard. Hard to star— turn hard to starboard. (He continues, indistinct.)
Narrator: That was sailor talk for "turn to the right".
Mr. Crabby: A little too hard. The other way.
Narrator: And so God helped provide a way— (The cargo ship and Tuffy come forward out of the fog.) —when there didn't seem to be a way.
Snuffy: Tow-rrific job, Tuffy.
Tuffy: Thanks. Where there's a will, there's a way.
Narrator: Finally, safely out of the fog, they arrived at Pangabula Island.
Tuffy: Wow! It's even more beautiful than I ever imagined!
Snuffy: See? I told you so!
Tuffy: And look! The Sparkleberry Tree! Thanks, Captain Wentworth, for all your help. You too, Mr. Crabby.
Wentworth: It was our pleasure, Tuffy. And thank you for helping us out of the fog.
Mr. Crabby: Ho-ho, out of the fog. Out of— thank you, Tuffy. You hold this. (He gives Wentworth crates.) I'm gonna salute— salute you, Tuffy. Am I sharp now? (Back to Tuffy.)
Tuffy: And thank you, Snuffy.
Snuffy: It was fun. (He swerves o.s., chuckling.)
Tuffy: It was. But what made it the most fun was having tow-rrific friends like you three to help me get here!
(She floats off; cut to another area of the sky as Tuffy floats slowly into view.)
Tuffy: With good fwiends in the sky
And good fwiends on the sea
I never knew how lucky
I could be
(Snuffy flies up alongside.)
Tuffy, Snuffy: We're gonna get there when we get there
And have a great time when we do
But half the fun of getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
As a team we worked together
And we finally made it through
Half the fun of getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
Yeah, half the fun of getting where we're goin'
Is going there with you
(They fly upward out of frame.)
Tuffy, Snuffy: LET'S GO
Song ends
(Fade to black.)
